"Skin," the first prime time series to deal with the world of pornography, and the favorite new show this season of many TV critics, is gone from the Fox schedule, but there may be some life to the smut chronicle yet, according to X-rated writer/director Cash Markman.

Markman served as the technical advisor for "Skin," making sure they had the details right when it came to skin flicks. According to Cash, nine episodes were produced, although only three aired.

The veteran adult director goes on to say, "Fox had high hopes for Skin. And with a budget of over a million dollars per episode, they needed the show to live up to their expectations. The problem was, they were aiming for a young male audience, yet they slotted the series opposite Monday Night Football! When the first three episodes brought in less than desired numbers, they yanked the show. That leaves six episodes that have yet to be seen. The real shame is, the series was getting better, in all ways, but especially in the area of portraying the world of adult entertainment."

As of now, Warner Brothers, which produced the series, is shopping "Skin" around, looking for another broadcast sponsor. If that fails, there is a good chance the remaining episodes will be shown later in the year as a mini series.
