(VAN NUYS, CA) — It’s a grey November day outside the Peach DVD offices, but inside the mood is as bright as a July afternoon. High spirits are the result of a record setting sales year by erotic DVD’s newest and hottest entrant.
Launched a year ago last September by some of the creative forces behind the hugely successful Vivid Interactive, Peach has not so quietly become the third-best-selling mature (aka Playboy-style/soft erotica) DVD company in the world and is now looking for further exposure to mass markets by introducing their Glamour Box series.
“We have been truly blessed by the tremendous amount of support that we have received from the major brick and mortar retailers,” states Peach DVD president Jim Monroe, whose titles are carried by the likes of Tower Records, Musicland, Transworld and Virgin Megastores to name a few. “But what we kept hearing from some retailers was that they would love to see a slightly softer, less revealing box cover option along with our front line covers, so that they could choose which one best fit the needs and sensibilities of their varied markets.” Monroe did express some reservations about the alternative covers. “Well, I guess I was feeling the old ‘if it’s not broke don’t fix it mentality’. But when we saw what our art guys came up with, which were very glamorous and elegant portraits of the girls and reflected the commitment we have to style and content, we knew it would work.”
The new covers have already allowed Peach to enter markets that had expressed interest in profiting from mature DVDs but needed a kinder, gentler profile to offer. “These covers will hopefully let some of the stores out there feel they have a choice in which way they wish to introduce our titles to their customers,” added Peach production manager Robbie Conley. “So if softer approach is what’s needed, we can offer that as well.”
Peach has set itself apart from other mature companies by combining interactive gaming with high production values and high profile feature models such as Jenna Jameson, Angel Cassidy, Teanna Kai and many others.
