(CHATSWORTH, CA) — Fatt Entertainment’s first major adult project, Ice-T’s Pimpin’ 101, continues its successful sales streak.
Behind the media attention showered on the project by both mainstream and adult outlets, the feature release has continued to shine and remain on top of the charts. The favorable reviews across the board and the 14 original songs in the soundtrack has contributed to the feature’s tremendous success. The expected release of the soundtrack music CD next week can only boost current sales levels.
XXL Magazine, a top mainstream hip-hop magazine, features a piece about Fatt’s project in its section called 360. The write-up can be found in XXL’s July 2003 issue, aptly dubbed their sex Issue Reloaded.
Fatt Entertainment honchos plan to keep sales figures at their current level by continuing to heavily promote the feature in different outlets. In fact, Fatt has printed more promo materials and has begun targeting the hip-hop community with a new campaign including cable commercial buys, street promos and marketing inside mom-and-pop retailers of hip-hop merchandise. The feature will be marketed differently in the sense that aside from repackaging the product, the lingo used in the campaign will address the hip-hop consumers in their ‘native tongue’. Terms like “uncensored, raw and uncut footage” will be used to describe the video and an additional parental advisory sticker will be placed on the packaging.
“Sexy women go hand-in-hand with hip-hop. I believe Fatt has stumbled upon a winning formula and will reap positive results!” said an enthused JF, head of street promotions for Fatt Entertainment.
