Eating lunch at the Officer’s Club at the Marine Corps Miramar Air Station in San Diego has always been personally enjoyable for me, especially the “people watching”! I try to go there on Fridays because the club seems more crowded, both with civilian employees of the Department of Defense and with active duty and retired officers. I guess it’s like a quasi- returning to my former days of active service when lunchtime was a break from the stress of the workday with it’s deadlines, meetings, briefings, and military activities.
Yes, I sometimes get recognized as part of the Adult Industry and people sometimes bring folks over to my table to meet me; and, often I sit at a table with active duty people I’ve previously met or know. Hanging out with F-18 fighter pilots, and other aviators (both male and female) is always fun as they chat about their morning practice bomb runs, in-air refueling, touch-and-go’s, carrier launches/traps, or whatever they did that morning-even mundane classroom stuff, paperwork, meetings/briefings, weather forecasts, etc!
It’s nice to notice that the troops are indeed starting to return to the various local military bases from the Middle East; bases are showing more vehicle traffic, the different base facilities are more crowded, more jets and helicopters on training missions are taking off and landing, and military folks are jogging all over the bases! It’s so nice lately to look up and see a civilian wide-body passenger jet coming in for a landing, because unlike in the months leading up to the Iraqi War when they were picking up troops for flights To the Middle East, now the jets are bringing more of our American personnel home!
I had a personally rewarding experience this week when I accompanied members of a running group as we met the (Aircraft) Constellation Strike Force of ships as they docked after having been deployed in support of the war; we runners brought our large Hash House Harrier running club banner to meet the cruiser USS Valley Forge where one of our runners had been deployed and involved with the firing of Tomahawk missiles during the opening evening of the war. Seeing returning warriors and families reuniting is so joyful to watch! God bless America and our military troops and families!!
Our group even got the opportunity to board the cruiser and take a tour of the ship, hosted by our on-board U.S Navy runner (interestingly, I had administered the Oath of Office for this Petty Officer last year when I was honored to officiate his re-enlistment during a ceremony on board his ship). One last military comment—last week, I ate lunch at one of the clubs on the Marine Corps Recruit Depot where New Marines had just had their Graduation Parade and were being honored at a special buffet for them and their parents/siblings/friends/significant others/etc; the look of pride on the faces of these Marines and guests was a very moving sight to see. I wish I could somehow wave-a-magic-wand and bring all of you to one of these events-it’s a site to behold!
One side benefit of the return of the non-married troops is the happiness of the girls at area Gentlemen’s Clubs; they missed the troops, and I suspect that much of it is actual caring instead of merely the financial aspect.
My “Knee Pad Nymphos” series, the last three volumes of which received reviewer’s ratings of AAAA from AVN Magazine, just released Vol 6 (you can see the box cover at the opening page of my DaveCummings.com site); I am very surprised that other producers/directors haven’t copycatted my use of mirrors, especially in getting the different angles and POV shots. I love filming this particular series, even though it’s a challenge to simultaneously be the producer, director, cameraman, and “wood”/fornicator (yes, many of the scenes include sexual positions, not just blowjobs)! It’s not easy being 63 years old and keeping a rigid hard-on while simultaneously running the main camera during the action! Pray for me :)! It’s amazing how many emails I receive from “wannabe” producers who assume that I will drop what I’m doing and help them launch their new endeavors, almost as if I have lots of free time to provide free “consultations” for them; no kidding, these guys are quite demanding, say they have lots of money to become “producers”, and want me to let them on sets so they can recruit girls to give them auditions and blowjobs now that they have decided that they are “producers”. Unbelievable! Some of these same guys seem to have believed the fantasies about “auditions”, pizza delivery and pool cleaner scenarios, and the (false) notion that every porn girl walking onto a set wants to “do” everyone there along with their buddies who might be waiting in the parking lot!
We’ve already got a glut of footage in the market place, to the extent that I suspect that some already-existing companies are financially concerned-we don’t need more new “producers” who are using their pursuit as a means to try and get laid! Let me predict that even tougher times are ahead as the Internet, especially the plethora of free sites which provide tons of masturbatory material to wankers, and its streaming video, pay-per-view and Video on Demand, and webcam “shows”, etc takes a toll on the demand for bookstores and hard copy videos/DVD’s.
As cable television becomes more hardcore and the Internet becomes more involved with “Distributing”, some stand-alone Distributors might begin to see their incomes affected. I hope I’m wrong about my predictions, but I’m afraid some or all of them are already beginning to take a toll. Additionally, some financially well-healed Adult Internet sites are presently hiring models at a high booking fee and shooting lots of quality content for their sites, some of which could easily be assembled and marketed as video/DVD products, further glutting the market! At the monthly classes I teach in Los Angeles and San Diego, I tell students about the aforementioned—I feel it’s my moral-ethical responsibility to tell them my thoughts about the glut and what the future might hold!
Speaking of masturbatory materials, in my oldfart mind, “whackability” is key to popular porn. Nice sets, interesting plot and acting, etc, are appealing to some viewers, but the bottom line is “getting off”—-not only for the guy watching by himself, but also for couples and females! I’m finding that more and more females are demanding their right to masturbate—it’s refreshing to see them shedding their shyness and asserting their need for sexual self-release!
