(VAN NUYS, CA) — in less than a week, Shay Sights and Renee LaRue will terminate their contracts with Wildlife Productions to begin work on their own company, Dragonfly Pictures. “The timing just seemed right,” said Sights in a statement to the press late last month. “Wildlife is going in a different direction, more gonzo, and Renee and I are obviously more feature oriented. With Dragonfly, we’re really looking to revolutionize the adult movie making process, by incorporating spirituality into sexuality. Our company, and our movies, will be really groundbreaking and unique in that sense.”
The dragonfly is the spiritual symbol of transformation and Dragonfly Pictures will serve as just that for Sights and LaRue. Sights last movie for Wildlife, “Healing Touch,” showcases where she is headed in both her personal and professional life — recently becoming a certified Reiki master and a practitioner of various healing arts, elevating her to a different plane. This, coupled with her recent split from Nick Manning, has created drastic change in her life.
Sights and LaRue intend to make the atmosphere at Dragonfly a comfortably spiritual one for all involved, without being “In your face.” On the set of each movie, there will be group meditations before sex scenes and massage therapy available for cast and crew throughout the day, something practically unheard of in the XXX world. “Our movies will carry a message as well,” says LaRue. “We don’t want to preach or hit people over the head, but it will be underlying. Some people watch ‘Star Wars’ because it’s a good action movie and some watch it because of its themes and moral stories. I would like to think we’re doing the same thing. Some people will watch if for the fucking and that’s fine. We’ll make a good porno. But if one person comes away from it with something more, we’ve done our job.”
Sights adds: “The work we’ll be doing with the cast on set will make them feel more comfortable in their own skin than ever before and the result will be a genuine loss of inhibition. I have a feeling we’ll end up capturing some hardcore, down and dirty sex as a result.”
This is not Shay Sights or Renee LaRue’s first time on the production end of the industry either. Sights has written and directed many of her features, including “Healing Touch” and a slew of videos from Nick Manning Productions and Nick Manning Films. LaRue conceptualized her movie, “Passion,” with director Bobby Rinaldi, and was intricately involved in the costuming and set design of the production. It’s a perfect match and together, they will make blue movie magic!
Publicist and adult entertainment personality, Jason Sechrest, will be leaving Wildlife to join the Dragonfly team. “Shay and I have had a strong spiritual connection from day one, as we both subscribe to very similar beliefs,” says Sechrest, who has been a pupil of the Kabbalah since he was 18. “I think taking this way of life and incorporating it into sexuality and our line of work is a really exciting thing. A lot of people will probably think we’re crazy, but the end product will speak for itself. Sex was meant to be tantic and spiritual and through creating this atmosphere at Dragonfly, Shay and Renee will get some of the most real and passionate sex ever seen on video.”
Shay Sights and Renee LaRue begin pre-production on their first feature, “Butterfly,” next week, and plan to shoot the title this Spring. Both stars can be seen feature dancing this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday in the San Fernando Valley; Shay Sights at the Van Nuys’ Spearmint Rhino and Renee LaRue at North Hollywood’s Blue Zebra.
