Dear Steve,
Help Us Help Mercedes! In January, Mercedes, a dear friend of L.A. Couples and an active volunteer, was in a very serious car accident. Mercedes is still recovering in a Las Vegas hospital. Her husband Cory has been constantly by her side through the very difficult recovery. We almost lost her.
Both of them have been volunteers here at L.A. Couples events, and they have worked hard to help make this place what it is. Obviously, this accident has created some major changes in their lives, and money certainly becomes an issue. Together, we can make a big difference for them.
As part of our Lover’s Ball, we also want to celebrate the fact that a dear friend of L.A. Couples survived a difficult ordeal, and help her out as well. We’ll be having an auction, with all the proceeds going to Mercedes and Cory. In the lobby, we will also be selling an adult video that Mercedes appeared in (which is what she does for a living), and all the proceeds will go to them. We will also have additional information on how you can help directly.
These are wonderful people, and one of the great things about the Lifestyle is our sense of community and willingness to help when one of our own needs it.
Cory will be here Saturday while other friends stay with Mercedes, and we’ll have a phone hook-up so that she can listen in and feel a part of this evening.
On Monday, when we plan to get it up, there will be a special Mercedes page on the LACouples.com site so that you can find out about how the Saturday event went and how she is doing. We’ll also set up a way from that page for you to send her greetings and encouragement. Nothing helps speed recovery like knowing there are friends who care about you.
