(IRVINE, CA) — Adult Film Performer Dave Pounder appeared on both Blind Date and the 5th wheel this month. “I’m hoping to generate more of a mainstream appeal and acceptance of the adult community”, said Pounder.
“Many people have false perceptions about performers in this business, and I think going on these national television shows allows us to portray the industry in a more positive light. We really are no different from anyone else.”
Pounder won the girl on the 5th wheel, however, his Blind Date was not very receptive to the idea he was a porn star.
Creating a mainstream appeal isn’t Pounder’s only motivation for going on these shows. “Look, if you can create a demand for your product, you will always have more work coming through the door”, states Pounder. “Being an adult entertainer is like running a business; you are a product, but most people don’t understand that. Products that are not advertised do not get sold.”
