AVN Expo/Awards 2003

(LAS VEGAS, NV) — The Adult Entertainment Expo and AVN Awards show was packed this year! Both were better compared to past years. With most of the Industry represented there was plenty of time to network in the morning before the fans swarmed in enticed by the abundance of scantily clad beauties.

Unlike the pre-AEE dash to secure contract stars to sign for their companies, the behind the scenes business done there will be evident in upcoming press releases. We have PR people taking on clients, directors and producers switching companies, new companies forming, and some out and out reorganization about to happen. AIM Auction

There were other events scheduled around the week of flash and glitz. AIM (Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation) hosted an auction with items such as photos, t-shirts, calendars, autographs, DVDs and worn articles of clothing up for bid. The Showgirl Hall of Fame Awards

Here was an event where cement saw the hands, feet, and sometimes the better parts of legend entertainers in the Adult Industry. With Bill Margold as MC, those honored were Phil Berman, the glorious Angela Summers (who sat in the cement), Eric Edwards, Ed Powers, Lee Carol (who forced two grotesquely large misshapen tits into the cement), the eternally young Selena Steele, and Jim Holliday. It was a fun time for the hardcore fan. At the end of the ceremony, as is typical for these events, there were naked women dancing.

The AVN Awards Show

The Adult Video News Awards show was, compared to past shows, the best ever. From the press table graciously provided by AVN the show was easy to see and hear. Hosted by Chloe, who makes a perfect MC, and with twin trophy girls Taylor and Tyler Star making everyone think they were seeing double double Ds, the show was most enjoyable in spite of the lame “appears to be trying too hard for a laugh” humor of Doug Stanhope.

The after party was held in the C2K Club in the Venetian Hotel and was packed inside and out with crowds waiting to get in. I was stopped by a C2K bouncer who tried to charge me 50$ to get into the VIP area untill I told him to tell Paul Fishbein I was here to thank him for a great show, when he let me in immediately. A special thanks goes out to Paul and all those at AVN for putting on a great show and the Adult Industry in a good light.
