(LAS VEGAS, NV) — The Las Vegas Dancers Alliance has filed charges with the National Labor Relations Board on behalf of one of their members citing Cheetahs Topless Cabaret with unfair labor practices. The charge stems from an incident on January 10th involving LVDA Director of County Operations, Kristina Tolman.

Ms. Tolman, whose name and picture appeared days earlier in an AP story that received worldwide coverage, was drugged on the job at Cheetahs, left on foot, was set upon by three police cars a short distance from the club, verbally abused, arrested, and taken to jail. Despite the fact that she had just worked an entire shift at Cheetahs (during CES, the most profitable convention of the year), the police report claimed she had no money when she was taken into custody. Also, despite the fact she was obviously under the influence, she was not tested for drugs or alcohol at any time while in custody.

Upon returning to work, Ms. Tolman found a note from management telling her to see them before working. When asked to explain the note, her manager told her she was forbidden from talking about LVDA in the club from that point forward.

LVDA contends the sequence of these events are highly suspicious and suggest a policy of union-busting by Cheetahs and possible complicity on the part of the police. “On the face of it,” said LVDA President, Andrea Hackett, “this string of events seem very suspicious. First Ms. Tolman’s picture is plastered in papers across the world identifying her as a member of LVDA, then – suddenly – she’s drugged at work, arrested, her money is “lost” while in police custody, and she’s told to keep silent about a labor organization that’s trying to organize Cheetahs’ dancers? The whole thing smacks of intimidation to us and our organization will not buckle under intimidation.”

Las Vegas Dancers Alliance is an organization of dancers who live and work in Southern Nevada. Our mission is to fight for the rights of dancers across the valley.
