(HOLLYWOOD, CA) — Joey and Carlo Productions announced on their web site this afternoon that Jason Sechrest will serve as host and emcee for their 2002 Gay Entertainment Awards, a ceremony being billed as “The people’s choice of gay erotica.” the ceremony will be held at the Palace in Hollywood, California, on Friday, the 13th of December. Gay XXX performers confirmed to appear include Ken Ryker, Spike, Jeff Palmer, Bret Wolfe, Matt Sizemore, and many more.
“I have always believed that there needs to be an awards show in this genre that is strictly voted on by the fans,” said Sechrest in a statement this morning from Florida, where he is vacationing for his birthday and Thanksgiving until the 30th. “I know Joey and Carlo so well at this point, both personally and professionally, that I feel comfortable signing onto the event, knowing that with them as producers, there’s no way any inner-industry politics will interfere in the voting process.”
“We are truly excited about having Jason host this year’s Gay Entertainment Awards,” says the show’s co-producer, Carlo Ricci. “We are sure that the GEA audience will love the energy and wit of Jason, not to mention his boyish looks! … He has the ability to own a crowd when he’s hosting any event.”
