(TORONTO, CANADA) — The EMMA Foundation, a British-based not for profit organization which encourages the creative, technical and professional development of digital media on a worldwide basis, today released its list of finalists for the Electronic Multimedia Awards (EMMAs). This prestigious competition involved over 500 entries worldwide including submissions from Canadian firms such as Sun Microsystems Inc., Immersion Studios, Bitcasters and Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) each making the finalist list. The winners will be announced on the EMMA web site at EMMA-Foundation.org at the end of November.
“This year was an exciting time for the EMMAs,” said John Rodgers, Chief Executive of the EMMA Foundation. “It is the first time that the judging event has taken place outside of Europe and we have been fortunate to have had the support and assistance in Toronto from Imat in helping to ensure that this was a wonderful experience for all involved. The quality of the submissions exceeded expectations yet again and whilst this caused the jury excessive deliberation, decisions were reached, and we are now delighted to be able to announce the finalists for this year’s EMMAs.”
