(HALLANDALE BEACH, FL) — It’s now official! Steve Seidman, the bombastic editor-in-chief of Adult Stars Magazine is leaving. Word of his pending resignation (one of the industry’s worst-kept secrets) began circulating during last week’s East Coast Video Show with official confirmation being released today.
Seidman, an industry insider since 1965 resigned his five-year post at Adult Stars Magazine to assume a variety of editorial and managerial duties at Dennis Hof’s World Famous Moonlight Bunny Ranch in Carson City, Nevada.
While the full extent of his responsibilities have still not been finalized they will include such activities as: managerial editorship of the ranch’s print magazines “Bordello Confidential and Cathouse Files” as well as their varied website venues (among them Bunnyranch.net, SunsetThomas.net) and existing and future video and cable television projects.
Under Seidman’s leadership, Adult Stars Magazine, grew from a simple monthly (free) website with basic pictures and a handful of video reviews to become a major industry player with pay websites (Adult Stars Magazine and Gay Adult Stars Magazine), a daily web-based newspaper (Porno News Network), as well as a direct provider and producer of adult cable television and website content.
Other major accomplishments include the long-term publication of “hard” glossy print issues of the magazine and the current number of monthly adult video and DVD reviews (150+) as received from almost every major and minor adult production company.
Seidman described his proudest accomplishments with the magazine as the “evolution from a simple words and picture website to one with an ever-growing amount of video streaming”. His motto for the magazine was “The Industry Tells Us and We Tell You” served to make all Adult Stars Magazine publications “fan-friendly” (a goal he strove for and well accomplished).
Adult Stars Magazine Publisher Jeffrey G. Cartwright stated, “Steve’s departure presents a number of challenges and opportunities. Steve has taken the magazine to new heights leaving us with the responsibility to him to maintain this quality and at the same time a responsibility to our readers to surpass it”.
Porno News Network Editor Don Benn stated “I have worked closely with Steve Seidman for the past few years. His praise when I was right coupled with his scathing criticism when I was wrong (sometimes dangerously wrong) has served to make me a more knowledgeable adult industry insider and (hopefully) a better adult industry editor”.
When contact for his own thoughts on the matter Seidman stated “I am leaving with regrets that I didn’t accomplish more, gratitude for the opportunities provided and the friendships established and a sense of excitement for the tasks that lay ahead”.
The entire editorial, support, and administrative staff of Adult Stars Magazine and its’ various publications wish him nothing but the best of everything in his new position. An interim editor will be announced by weeks’ end with a search for a full-time replacement to begin in early 2003.
