(HOLLYWOOD, FL) — The Internet Freedom Association, today launched its Website, I-Freedom.org, and began accepting memberships. The group will hold its first organizational meeting on August 10, 2002, in Hollywood, Florida, at the Internext Convention , at which over 5000 adult webmasters are expected to attend.
The IFA was formed last month by a broad contingent of leaders in the adult Website community, under the direction and leadership of Lawrence Walters, Esq., a First Amendment Attorney and partner with Weston Garrou & DeWitt.
"We look forward to gaining substantial membership and representing the interests of the adult Internet industry through this new trade group," said Walters. The IFA is dedicated to protecting the rights of adults to display and view adult materials online, according to its Website.
"The fear of prosecution by the federal government under obscenity laws will likely result in a wave of membership applications," Walters added, referring to the recent Memorandum signed by Attorney General John Ashcroft, promising to initiate prosecutions against online obscenity.
