(WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA) — Director Jim Wynorski finalized plans today to cast adult entertainment personality Jason Sechrest in his latest mainstream release for Concorde/New Horizons; a 35 mm horror film being shot under the working title, “Final Exam.” the project, produced by Hollywood legend Roger Corman, is set to begin shooting Saturday, July 27th, with Sechrest in the role of Dave, a “stoner-boy fraternity brother.”
“It started as a featured role and they’ve expanded it into a supporting character who is really the comic relief,” explains Sechrest. “I have about seven different scenes, a lot of dialogue. I really fought to get the part because it affords me an opportunity to play against type. I don’t think most people would think to cast me as a frat dude who is obsessed with tits and stoned twenty-four/seven, but that’s what acting is all about.”
This isn’t the first time the director has cast against type; Wynorski was responsible for giving Traci Lords her first mainstream crossover role in his 1988 remake, “Not of This Earth.” He has since gone on to write, produce, and direct a series of features, including the Showtime original movie, “Vampirella.”
“Final Exam” is tentatively slated to be on video shelves and cable TV in time for Halloween.
