(VAN NUYS, CA) — Digital Playground’s critically acclaimed Forbidden Tales was named "Best of Show Adult" at the Video Software Dealers Association Award Show, held July 18th, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This prestigious award honors the overall presentation in DVD format, under the technical achievement category.
After titles are submitted in this category, a panel of jurors, who specialize in DVD technology, cast votes for their selection. Bo Anderson, President of VSDA says, "Many factors and many people have contributed to the record-breaking growth of DVD-now on the verge of becoming Americans’ favorite vehicle for the enjoyment of theatrical entertainment in the home. Alternate endings, director and star commentaries and an exciting array of interactive options have redefined the way many consumers watch movies at home. VSDA’s DVD Technical Awards are designed to recognize special achievement among recent DVD releases."
The director and creator of Forbidden Tales, Joone says, "I’d like to thank VSDA and everyone else who has viewed this title, for taking the time to acknowledge our efforts. Filmed on two continents, Forbidden Tales stars Tera Patrick and is directed by Joone. The film takes the viewer on a surreal journey, combining steamy sex with fantasy and science fiction. Joone enlisted over 100 visual effect shots rivaling Hollywood Box Office films and creating another new standard in adult entertainment. Rog Reviews calls Forbidden Tales "well beyond state of the art". Adam Film World concurs, giving the title Editor’s Choice and going on to say, "Animation and real time film come together in this well crafted piece of erotic fantasy… The visuals are top notch and the production values are among the best you’ll see with special effects beyond what we normally see in adult features… [Forbidden Tales] is one of the best releases of the year!" Eight months after it’s release, Digital Playground’s Forbidden Tales still holds the number one spot on DVD sales charts everywhere.
