(CHATSWORTH, CA) — Erotica LA, the largest adult entertainment consumer show in the United States, will donate proceeds of over $74,500 to the Free Speech Coalition’s Anti-Censorship Defense Committee.
The show at the Los Angeles Convention Center June 7-9 attracted over 16,000 fans, who visited displays from 140 exhibitors of erotic products and services.
"We are absolutely delighted to be getting this donation and of course it will go into the funds of the Anti-Censorship Defense Committee, and we will certainly work with the defense committee to see that it’s put to good use," said Bill Lyon, executive director for the FSC.
Show Manager Renee Johnson said that despite the fact that it coincided with one of the biggest sports-viewing weekend of the year (NBA finals, the Mike Tyson/Lennox Lewis heavyweight title fight, the Stanley Cup finals, the Belmont Stakes, among other events), "Erotica LA still managed to raise over $74,000 for ACDC, and in our eyes this can only be viewed as a tremendous success."
Show organizers have already begun planning the 2003 Erotica LA weekend, which will place more emphasis on targeting couples as well as offer many added attractions, including a contest to choose the sexiest man and woman in Los Angeles, a fashion show and an auction of adult memorabilia.
