(VAN NUYS, CA) — The Vivid Girls, widely celebrated as the top adult film actresses, are taking their skills to the printed page in a new trade paperback book entitled "Ecstasy Now!" to be published in the fall of 2003 by the Citadel press imprint from Kensington Publishing Corp. Cecilia Tan is writing the book based on extensive interviews with the contract actresses from the Vivid Entertainment Group, plus leading adult film directors and male stars. It will be illustrated with photos of the actresses from their recent films.

"This book reflects the tremendous recent growth in mainstream acceptance of adult entertainment," according to Citadel editor Bob Shuman. "It’s now a multi-billion dollar industry. Frank Rich wrote about it extensively in a landmark New York Times Magazine article and the adult industry has been covered seriously in publications ranging from the Wall Street Journal to the New Yorker. Today, you might even find yourself studying erotica in a college seminar."

Shuman said he took the idea for "Ecstasy Now!" to agent Lori Perkins: "I wanted to see if we could make a non-fiction book out of a sexual fantasy. Perkins has a keen understanding of the erotica market and she responded enthusiastically. She worked with Ellie Reeve at Vivid’s p.r. company, Resource Media, to package the book with writer Tan and the Vivid Girls, who are by far the best-known actresses in their field and are in a unique position to offer the ultimate guide for great sexual experiences." Perkins noted that "The team of Tan and the Vivid Girls have the clout to make "Ecstasy Now!" into a major release."

Among the Vivid Girls contributing to the book are Jenna Jameson, who has been recognized by Adult Video News as the leading female adult star of all time and is one of Howard Stern’s favorite guests; Briana Banks, the award-winning co-star with Jameson of the best-selling "Briana Loves Jenna" video and DVD; Taylor Hayes, who won the AVN Best Actress Award this year for "Fade to Black" and Dasha, a popular blonde sensation from the Czech Republic who was featured in the epic adult classic "Awakening" and in Madonna’s "Music" and Deftones’ "Change" music videos. In addition, Tan has elicited secret sex techniques from popular male actors and top adult film director Paul Thomas, who was honored as the director of the year by Adult Video News, the X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) and Adam Film World.

The Citadel book will be approximately 60,000-75,000 words and will include 60-80 photographs. In keeping with the expertise of the contributors, the book will approach good sex as an important "production" in a couple’s life, with early sections such as "Prepping the ‘set,’" "Mood lighting," "Props: toys, etc." and "Wardrobe" before the girls get down to some very specific advice in "Shooting Your Scene" and even how to handle the "afterglow" in "Post Production."
