(CHATSWORTH, CA) — the late porn star Linda Lovelace will be inducted into the Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame, according to Adult Video News (AVN), the leading adult industry authority. The magazine quotes William Margold, the founder of Protecting Adult Welfare (Paw), as saying he regretted not honoring Lovelace before she died last April 22. Paw sponsors the annual event at Showgirls Video in Las Vegas every January in conjunction with AVN’s Adult Entertainment Expo.
Interviewed for an article in the June issue of AVN about the impact of Lovelace on the industry, Margold said, “I believe she is, justifiably, a legend, and the only way I can make it up to her is by putting her in posthumously in January.”
AVN notes that Lovelace was “The first female porn star.” Ironically, the article recapping industry reaction to her death is included in the annual AVN issue devoted to choosing the hottest new talent in the adult industry.
The stars AVN believes are on the road to stardom are Hannah Harper, a 19-year-old Briton who has an exclusive performing contract with Legend Video; Chloe Jones, an exclusive contract performer for New Sensations; Jody Moore, a one-time Senate candidate in her native Australia who acts exclusively for Private North America; Tawny Roberts, who acts exclusively for Vca Pictures; and Savanna Samson, a former Scores dancing sensation who acts exclusively as a Vivid Girl for Vivid Entertainment.
