(CHATSWORTH, CA) — The 2002 AVN Awards Show will be broadcast in full for the first time on Spice TV on Saturday April 27, 2002 10:00 am/pm Et and 1:00 am/pm Et, giving fans across the country their first look at what up to now had been a ceremony seen by the insiders who attended and those lucky enough to catch it live on the Internet. If the Spice viewership is anything like the audience that watched the proceedings on the Internet it will be a major hit for the cable network.

Held before a packed audience in Las Vegas on January 11th. The 2002 AVN Awards attracted a phenomenal 148,418 unique viewers from 124 different countries, according to Netelligence Technologies, an Internet measurement firm. This was huge considering the content and 64 percent of the visitors came in on a high-speed connection, according to Pat Greer, chief technology officer of Netelligence.
The interest in the AVN Awards has grown year after year and we expect the Spice audience to be very gratifying, according to Paul Fishbein, chief executive of AVN.
