(NASHVILLE, TN) — February 22nd marked the 6-year anniversary of a double-murder involving two 18-year-old women. The crime occurred at Exotic Tans for Men, which was located at 1805-C Church Street in Nashville, Tennessee. It was stated that Keith Scott, the owner of Exotic Tans was a Texas native that ran a string of sex shops that stretched into Mexico.

On February 22, 1996 metro detectives reported that one or more suspects entered the business between 11:30 Am to 2:30 Pm and viciously stabbed Tiffany Campbell and Melissa Chilton a combined total of 80 times, with a large knife. Other reports confirmed that the blade used was 11 inches in length, and that investigators believe a bayonet may have been used to commit the murder. It was reported that the killer fled with the VCR, surveillance tape, and the safe.

“After ‘America’s Most Wanted’ aired a report on the Exotic Tan murders in February, investigators turned their attention to an Indianapolis man, Lynn Williams–one of Keith Scott’s competitors. Murder Squad detectives have questioned Williams once and may want to question him again. Lynn Williams operated a business called Sheer Elegance, on Gallatin Road. The business advertised itself as a private modeling and lingerie shop–a shop where the men could buy private shows with beautiful models. A former Exotic Tan worker said Lynn Williams visited their establishment more than once. She said Williams tried to convince Tiffany to come to work for him. Tiffany refused. Reached by telephone, Williams said, “I had nothing to do with it. There is no way I’m connected to that.” Williams has moved to Indianapolis where he runs at least one lingerie shop, maybe more. Asked about his sex shop businesses, Williams replied, ‘I don’t know anything about that, either.’ Metro police will not comment on whether they consider Lynn Williams a suspect, but investigators said the Exotic Tan murders are proof that Nashville’s sex industry is growing more dangerous every day.” Source: News Channel 5 – Nashville (Article: Police Uncover Leads in sex Shop Murders) (Link: www.newschannel5.com/news/0005/08/sexmurders.html)

Last week Grady Elam, a Nashville Detective, stated that he believes they are very close to solving the Exotic Tans double-murder case. They’ve been investigating a suspect for almost six months. He added that he and detective Gray would be “going out of town” to conduct more interviews concerning these brutal slayings. Metro Police Captain Mickey Miller confirmed that detectives were “out of state” hunting down a suspect, and would not elaborate who they were looking at, or what new information they have.
