(ATLANTA, GA) — The strip club trial that attracted national attention in 2001, ended Tuesday when Gold Club owner, Steven Kaplan received his sentencing.
Judge Willis Hunt sentenced Kaplan to 16 months and perform 400 hours of community service. Judge Hunt said the most serious issue coming out of the case was the credit card fraud, not the giving of sex to professional athletes. Six of the jurors showed up for sentencing and one even mentioned that Kaplan didn’t deserve any prison time.
Kaplan greeted 10 friends after the proceedings and said he is sorry for hurting other’s feelings. Kaplan is expected to report to prison in 30-60 days.
