(ATLANTA, GA) — John Cornetta’s trial on selling obscene materials at his store in Gwinnett County Georgia began Friday in Lawrenceville, GA.

In a motions hearing Cornetta’s attorney, Louis Sirkin asked that the Gwinnett County solicitor, Gerald Blaney and Judge Robert Mock be removed from the trial. The conflict arose when it was learned that State representative Tom Rice encouraged anti-Cornetta groups to send e-mails in mass to the judge in an attempt to influence jury selection. The Judge denied the motions at this point, saying he is in his last term of serving and won’t be influenced by voters.

A trial date has not been set yet, but expect additional motion hearings, including one where adult videos will be introduced into evidence and may involve those in the case watching over 51 hours of adult videos.
