Sex, and an appreciation for the wares of the adult filming industry, was alive and healthy in 2001; in fact, it was booming! Because of my economics background, I follow the stocks and commodities markets somewhat, and I’m thankful to note that the Adult Entertainment Industry provides both a service to the peoples of the World and a very favorable economic contribution to America.
The monthly Adult Video News (AVN) magazine, which I personally think of as the “Wall Street Journal” of the Adult Video/DVD Industry, just released their figures estimating 759 MILLION rentals of adult VHS and DVD products in America during 2001! THAT’s a huge demand for rentals! And when considering sales, in addition to the aforementioned rentals, it suggests to me that although some folks still remain defensive, critical, and unwilling to openly admit/discuss their use of Adult Industry video and DVD products, the demand is definitely there and growing! I imagine that growing demand and recognition that sex between consenting adults is indeed OK, applies throughout much of the world, not just the United States of America. Despite the devastating effects caused by terrorism and the economy in 2001, sex again showed itself as a normal, healthy, and natural human need in America. AVN estimates that adult rentals and sales from stores (which excludes mail order) was a $3.95 Billion in 2001. This healthy thirst for Adult Industry video and DVD products provided vast economic support, especially in terms of employment, tax revenues, facilities, transportation/shipping, production and post-production, etc. God was very giving and thoughtful when we humans were blessed with the miracle of sex.
In last month’s column, I steered somewhat away from extensive reporting of recent Adult Industry happenings so that I could instead devote the space to some of my personal thoughts about the War on Terrorism; let me now briefly catch up on some of the adult shoots and activities.
A number of talented and knowledgeable “Insiders” now provide insight into the adult video world via their periodic columns at www.avn.com/insider –be sure to also check out past columns found to the right of the present columns. The site also has reports from AVN staff folks who visit shoots, and interviews of interesting “insiders”, stars, and directors. I recommend checking it out every day. A good example of “behind-the-scenes” reporting was recently posted concerning the Passion Pictures filming of “Kelley’s Heroes; Operation American Pie”. I was on the box cover shoot that was covered in the article, as well as at a later set-it’s a sex-filled video that simultaneously has an absolutely hilarious and entertaining scenario. The lines were so funny that we often giggled so hard that we had to re-shoot some of them. Hot sex, beautiful ladies, a talented and conscientious cast, great camera work, and insightful directing make me look forward to its release.
In the continuation of Sean Michael’s very successful series centered on Sean “Bond”, he recently shot “The Return of Dr No Love” (I’m Dr No Love, complete with eye patch). One scene called for me to get a BJ from KellyFire, an actress who truly enjoys sex—she made the scene so hot that everyone on the set was turned on! After the “money shot”, and while awaiting the completion of some pick-up shots that Sean and some others were completing behind the studio, KellyFire insisted on some more sex while we were rehearsing lines and watching the outdoor filming. Thankfully, since she had me so close to another “pop shot”, Sean finished filming one segment and called “cut” just as I somewhat noisily “popped” again, this time IN her mouth (which is always fun, especially since it’s usually a “no no” on film where the money shot must be viewable to the camera and viewers)! Sean looked over with a big smile, almost as if he was thinking that his casting selections and pairings had matched up nicely!
Wildlife Productions recently shot “Screw My Wife, Please, Vol 25”, another superb video from Super-Director Bobby Rinaldi. Because I act as the host in all five sex scenes and sometimes get sexually involved with some of the wives, it’s a very long filming day; yet, as always on Wildlife sets, it was a sex-filled fun day where everyone was happy and glad to be there!
Playboy Television’s “Night Calls 411” continues to be a favorite of mine. The Producer and Director are so gifted, talented, and organized, and the entire crew so professional, that it’s always a filming that I look forward to with enthusiasm. In one recent show, with Julia Ann and Crystal Knight interviewing us guests, I later directed a Girl/Girl sex scene with Calli Cox and Danley that ended up with an orgy aspect to it when the beautiful “411 Dancers” joined in! What fun! More recently, I was on the show as Santa Claus handing out adult gifts to hostesses Tera Patrick and Crystal Knight, female guests, and the dancers—the adult toy gifts were certainly put to good use!! I am extremely impressed with the folks at Playboy Television, and the participants in their acclaimed programs!
Shooting for my “Sex Fun”, “Knee Pad Nymphos” and “Sugardaddy” series continues. Last month, for the lead-off sex scene in the 10-scene “Knee Pad Nymphos, Vol 2”, young and energetic Bisexual Britni and I did a set up and BJ near a San Diego university overlooking the Pacific Ocean and LaJolla; because classes were changing and students were walking around nearby, we adjourned to my condo for the anal sex –a photo of the BJ and the beautiful scenery, as well as an “up-and-over” anal position photo of Britni, is viewable on the box cover found under “Latest Releases” at www.davecummings.com. I also shot a sizzling scene wherein Rick Shaw and I double-teamed the sexy Justine Romee’—in “Sex Fun, Vol 2”, Justine’s first-ever filming, she and I did one scene in the women’s restroom at a park, followed 20 minutes later by another scene on a bike path near the park. Justine is always adventurous, enthusiastic, and “real”! New-cummer Cameron, barely 18, with natural and perky 36-C’s, is another beauty who I “worked with” a few days ago; she had that All-American look about her, one which had me fully “up” for the occasion!
Economically, the Adult Film business is contributing immensely to the economy; and, it’s supplying adult entertainment to folks who appreciate that sex, either with/by themselves or with another consenting adult, is a significant contributor towards happiness, productivity, enjoyment, lovingness, and marital stability. With the freedom to produce adult films comes, I think, a responsibility to do so in a manner that reflects the sexual norms of society—films that shock or degrade will be favored by a few viewers, but rejected by most consumers. Let’s support normalcy and the economy by continuing to satisfy the demand of the vast majority who use and view adult films as healthy and natural!
