(ATLANTA, GA) — One of the most sensational trials in recent history is now all but over. An Atlanta police officer, Jack Redlinger had his charges dropped, leaving the sentencing of Gold Club owner Steven Kaplan the last remaining loose end in the Gold Club trial.

Redlinger was charged with providing protection and fixing traffic tickets for Gold Club officials. In return, he was said to have received cash, food, drinks and free tickets to such places as Disney World. Redlinger resigned his post from the police department and agreed not to seek any job in law enforcement for about three years.

Redlinger was one of 17 defendants initially charged in the Gold Club racketeering conspiracy. As of now not one defendant is serving any time, with Kaplan’s sentencing still to come.
