(SARASOTA, FL) — Patrick John Powers, a.k.a. John Patrick, 58, Sarasota, died October 31, 2001.
He was born January 10, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan, and moved to Sarasota 25 years ago from Cleveland. He was founder of the Florida Literary Foundation and STARBooks Press of Sarasota. He was also an author and an editor.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary M. Savani of South Euclid, Ohio; a son, Michael of Centreville, Virginia; a brother, Tom of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two grandchildren. No memorial service is scheduled. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the National AIDS Fund [http://AIDSfund.org].
