(CHATSWORTH, CA) — Last week, Elegant Angel Productions released a press statement saying that Tony Ribas was signed to an exclusive 12-picture contract with the company. This was not wholly accurate.
So there is no further confusion, here is where Tony Ribas and Patrick Collins stand regarding their working relationship.
Collins told AVN, "I did not intend to say he’s signed with us." The confusion was understandable but unintentional. Tony expressed to me while we were talking in Barcelona, that his focus was on making the best video product possible. I asked him how many he felt he could make while still maintaining his high standard. As best as I can recall, he said 12, or 1 per month.. Later, I called the office to convey the conversation to our publicist. In doing this, our publicist was under the impression that I said a "contract" for 12 Tony Ribas movies. Thus she issued a press release stating this."
"Tony is NOT under contract, and IS shooting movies for Elegant Angel!"
Collins states, "Ribas is at the top of the directorial game, and I would put his movies up against anything out there, knowing that they will come out on top."
Collins also told AVN about Ribas, "He’s good, and he cares. I’ve used him as talent for the years I’ve known him, and most talent don’t have the work ethic that it takes to obtain or attain a standard I’m interested in associating Elegant Angel with. This guy is fanatical about it. He really cares, and he always wants to be better. I think he is a standard-bearer of the newer generation of upcoming producers."
As far as any hint of exactly what Ribas will be shooting for Elegant Angel, Collins says, "that’s confidential for now. More than one series we hope."
Riba’s current line for Elegant Angel Productions is called "Hardcore Innocence" and is getting rave reviews by the critics.
