(LOS ANGELES, CA) — Although Serenity is best known for taking it all off, the award-winning adult entertainer, star of Pornogothic, Love Shack, and XXX Training, jumped at the chance to help animals by putting her clothes on. She slipped into fake snakeskin chaps and a pleather corset for a photo shoot in Los Angeles to show the sizzling side of animal-free fashions.
“Dead animal skins make a person look cold,” says Serenity. “With today’s hot, stylish synthetics, it’s easy to ‘pleather yourself.'”
Much of the leather sold in the U.S. comes from overseas, where cows endure violent beatings and suffer wounds and broken bones from extreme overcrowding in transport trucks and where dog skin is marked “cowhide” for Western export purposes. In the U.S., a recent investigation into one of the nation’s largest slaughterhouses, located in Seattle, showed cows being trampled, dragged, rammed in the head and mouth with electric prods, and dismembered, all while fully conscious. Snakes killed for their skins don’t fare any better-they are often nailed to trees, fully conscious, so their skin can be sliced off their backs.
Serenity is debuting her new look on PleatherYourself.com. PETA’s Shopping Guide to Nonleather Products, a free, wallet-size clothing guide to help you find everything from synthetic leather snowboarding boots to rubber biker jackets, is available by visiting the site or by calling 757-622-PETA.
