(LUGANO, SWITZERLAND) — A Swiss radio talk show host asked for permission to research porn on the internet, but was sacked after bosses found he visited 45,000 sites.

Sergio Savoia was given permission to surf the sites by Lugano-based radio station RTSI [http://www.rtsi.ch] after saying he wanted to research for a new radio programme. But he was sacked after failing to produce any work from his research despite visiting 45,000 sites in six months.

Managers acted after learning the 37-year-old had even been surfing the sites while he was live on air. He allegedly used the studio computer that was supposed to allow fans to send the host emails while he was broadcasting.

Savoia insists his research was genuine and says he plans to take legal action against the radio station for unfair dismissal. He said: "I was only surfing the porn sites because I was planning a satirical radio programme. Now I can’t conclude my project." [http://www.lugano.ch]
