(ATLANTA, GA) — Five defendants in the Gold Club racketeering trial, including owner Steven Kaplan entered guilty pleas following negotiations in Atlanta federal court.
Kaplan will serve a maximum of three years in prison and pay a little over $5 million in fines and restitution. Kaplan also lost ownership control of the Gold Club itself. Four others including former dancer Jacklyn "Diva" Bush also pleaded guilty but will serve no time.
Ex-cop Reginald Burney, and defendant Michael DiLeonardo did not participate in the plea and the trial may continue in the next few weeks for them.
A hearing for Steven Kaplan is expected to be held in the next two weeks.
