Nasty Neil, former KNAC-FM and KNAC.COM personality announced today he would join MFNROCKS.com. The first official show is slated, appropriately, for this Friday the 13th of July 2001.

Nasty Neil brings over 18 years of programming and broadcasting Experience to the fledgling web station. Neil stated he was impressed with the wide-open format and programming ideas of MFNROCKS.com Internet radio station.

"The genesis of Internet Radio reminds me a lot of the spirit of the early FM radio days", says Neil. "Back before the bean counters realized they could make money at it and snuffed out creativity by shoving their brand of generic corporate rock down everyone’s throats. Unfortunately, that very same trend is beginning to rear its ugly head toward Internet Radio as well. We’ve already seen what a radio conglomerate such as Clear Channel Communications has done to their Internet properties in less than Six months. A lot of talented radio professionals where shown the door in the interest of ‘cost-efficient programming’. Well, not this time. MFNROCKS will be an outlet for radio pros to express their creative freedom on the Net. No play lists, no restrictions, no rules."

This interactive rock station debuted on October 1, 1999. Located at www.MFNRocks.com, Music For the Net web casts video and Audio from its studio in the South Bay of Los Angeles. This studio lounge was created solely for Internet web casting.

"We are a group of professional radio dj’s, band members and real people tired of hearing the same old stuff. We wanted to play what the listeners wanted (and our favorites) instead of what was programmed. So we created MFNROCKS.com," says Bryan Shaw, co-founder and web caster.

Nasty Neil has been named Program Director and will also debut his "Dateless Friday" show this coming Friday the 13th with a special 12-hour Marathon show from 12 Noon to 12 Midnight PDT.

Up-and-coming bands along with national acts will be stopping by the studio on Friday the 13th, along with former KNAC.COM jocks Mark Mendoza, Thrasher, Mike Stark and The Animal Analee. Also popping in to say hello will be Los Angeles radio legends Frazer Smith and Insane Darrell Wayne. The porn world will be well represented by Melissa Monet, Diana DeVoe, Mistress Jacqueline along with her very talent musician husband Vinnie Spit and Madelyn Night calling in from New York City. John Bush from Armored Saint/Anthrax will be in-studio and Reed Mullin from COC is phoning in to talk about his new band, "Brown". Method 51 just landed in L.A. from Charlotte, North Carolina and we’ll talk to them live. Comedienne "The Traffic Goddess" is stopping by as well as the usual last-minute guests, both on the phone and in-studio. "People will want to log on, watch and interact with the jocks and guests. It’s all about having fun on the radio (Internet) again." Shaw says.

A web station built by the listener and run by radio professionals…accept no substitutes.
