Ms. Ashton met an executive from JRG Web Designs at a filming of a Playboy TV game show called "Sex Court". The two kept in touch over the next several months and Ms. Ashton signed a contract in April of 2001. The site is a unique blend of a professional model with her own amateur site. The photos are not from any professional shoots Ms. Ashton has done in the past, but rather photos taken in her home, bedroom, bathroom and outdoors. Photos are totally spontaneous and videos are left unedited to leave the amateur feel of the content intact. She commented that she was "excited" about her live cam shows and switching from the grind and stress of professional modeling to the fun of her amateur Internet site. JRG Web Designs Vice President was quoted as saying, "It looks like a real money maker" in regards to Amateur Skye.com earnings potential. He added, "I really like her boobies".
