(VAN NUYS, CA) — Vivid Video began shooting six features this week, including an imaginative "Fact or Fiction" series from director Paul Thomas that will keep viewers guessing until the climactic end.
A while ago Vivid sent out a small casting call for select talent. About 20 actors and actresses were asked to think of an actual situation that happened to them and tell it to Vivid’s Shylar with the cameras rolling. The casting call turned into an audition, and Vivid is making movies that include the most interesting real-life stories along with a couple of totally fictitious scenes.
Viewers are invited to guess which of the scenes are real, and will learn the truth only at the end of the feature. .
Among the others in the Vivid’s Valentine’s Week six-pack are two by director David Aaron Clark, his first for Vivid, and two features by the hot director Robby D. that are major departures from his usual gonzo A.S.S., Watcher or Color Blind style.
The week also sees the release of eight Vivid compilations, including a couple with the catchy titles like "If These Balls Could Talk" and "The Running of the Balls." In New York, Vivid Girls Cassidey, Raylene and Dasha made the media rounds in New York City and hosted a huge party (about 4,000 people attended) Saturday night at the way hip Manhattan club Exit, where they mingled with dozens of celebs, recording company execs, journalists, players from the New York Jets, New York Giants and New York Rangers, and hot new artists including Nashville Pussy. Vivid signage literally took over West 56th Street. On Friday night, the Vivid girls enjoyed a late night supper at Da Nico’s in Little Italy and the entire restaurant sang happy birthday to Raylene. Down in the Sunshine State, University of Florida students got an eyeful of Dayton, who appeared at the adult superstore XTC and was a guest of honor at "The Valentine Love Grind" at the Florida Theatre. More fun in the sun: The next Vivid club party is March 17th in Ft. Lauderdale at Club Stereo (120 S.W. Third Ave).
