(VAN NUYS, CA) — Well, In The Days of Whore is finished and I must say I couldn’t be happier. Once again I’d like to thank everyone involved, all of the cast and crew, editor Slain Wayne, and most especially my bosses Tom Byron and Rob Black, who courageously allowed me to bring this complex and controversial vision to life.
If there are any innovators left in the business (which has become little more than a dank sewer for generic factory-line produced product and a grimy haven for two-bit wannabe video hacks) they can only be Black and Byron, who refuse to bow down to the status quo and realize that pornography also has to evolve and change if it is going to continue to thrive in the 21st Century. I bow down to that courage, to their unwavering support and belief in me, and to the fact that Extreme Associates will never jog in place and simply rest on its laurels. Extreme puts its money, heart, soul, and creative energies where its mouth is, and I know of NO other company in the business today willing to do that.
More than ten years ago, I set a number of goals for myself, listing all of the things I wanted to accomplish before my miserable, wretched life came to an end. Believe it or not, high on the list included making an adult film that would totally change the way pornography is perceived, that would be a mixture of Nicolas Roeg and Fellini with hardcore sex and acting performances of a mainstream caliber. I guess it’s now in the hands of others to decide if I came close to that lofty ideal, but all I can say is that I spent a good portion of the past three months–working eighteen hour days, existing on nicotine, Bud Light, and pure adrenalin-to accomplish this. I’m a perfectionist and never fully satisfied with a finished piece of work, but I am very happy with In The Days of Whore and think it came as close to my original vision as humanly possible.
Extreme is definitely going to be the number one adult production company of the New Millennium-and this isn’t arrogance here or some kind of pathetic sense of blind, naïve loyalty; it’s simply because Rob and Tommy are willing to take chances, put everything on the line for the product, regardless of the cost. That is something that is rarely seen in any business, but is the difference between inventing the wheel and coming up with a cheap variation of it thereafter.
In closing, I just wanted to say that, as long as Extreme will allow me I, like every director here, will always create some of the most cutting-edge original adult product on the market.
Everything I do, I will give 150%to and I promise the fan that he will never be disappointed in a Tom Zupko-directed Extreme video. I almost left the industry about six months ago (which, no doubt, probably would have made a lot of people happy), but now I am fucking back with a new lease on life and a new love for porn and the porn fan. And you have my word on this: I with Tom Byron, Lizzy Borden, Luis Cypher, Luciano, Slain Wayne, Asshole Andy Armageddon, and Derek Newblood, will set a new standard of smut that everyone else in this god-forsaken business can only hope to aspire to. Thank you all for your help and support.
