(VAN NUYS, CA) — Thomas Zupko, the much-heralded director, formerly with Apocalypse Productions and Evil Angel, has just inked a long-term deal with the notorious Extreme Associates. Zupko, who once had been engaged in a public feud with Extreme’s co-founder Rob Black, says that although his current situation is quite ironic it’s also too good to be true. "What’s great about Rob and Tom Byron," the controversial auteur explains, "is that they let me do my thing-my way-without question. All that bullshit in the past was just so I could get the Apocalypse name out there. My only regret is that we couldn’t have worked something out sooner."
Zupko, whose XXX hardcore debut Anal Ball went immediately to no. 1 on the Adult Video News charts and who was simultaneously hailed by many critics as being the "new king of porn," says that he now has to do a video a month for Extreme. "It’s a big task," he admits, "especially since it takes me almost a month just to edit one of my shows, but hey I’m getting to do what I want with no budgetary headaches and the only restraint placed on me is that of my imagination."
His first project, shot in September 2000, is a dark sexual psychological drama set in the 13th century. It features Kings, Queens, Princesses, Vikings, lepers (that’s right-lepers!) and the likes of Taylor St. Claire, Bridgette Kerkove, Monica, Suzanne Storm, and Extreme contract girl Kristi Myst all being fucked in the ass, D.P.ed, and having human body parts, severed organs, and various other unsundry objects shoved up their bungholes and twats. Zupko calls it his XXX magnum opus and predicts that when the vid is finally finished, it will be the greatest porno ever made.
"I know I’m putting myself on the line here when I say this," the lunatic protégée proclaims, "but the footage and performances in In The Days of Whore are spectacular. So many porn companies have tried to shoot something of this magnitude before-with bigger budgets and even more elaborate costuming than I had—but the end result is usually bogged down by horrific acting, boring sex, bad editing and such plain ass amateurism that it comes out even more ridiculous than if they shot it for $3,000 in their Mom’s basement and edited it on their home VCR. I mean, take The Conquest, for example: good cinematography and many good elements, but the acting was so fucking bad-especially with the lead character-that at times it was painful to watch. I mean, if I saw that kind of acting on my monitor and just let it go, I would have expected Orenstein to execute me on the spot, then hang my fucking balls from the nearest tree in effigy. Jesus Motherfucking Christ, why take the time and money to do something of that magnitude and not do it right?"
Zupko says that the performances of Myst, St. Claire, Kerkove, and Monica are probably the best of their careers.
"Honestly, I don’t see how Taylor can duplicate it. She gets fucked in every hole repeatedly, gets DP-ed three times, then has four lepers blast on her face. She is literally coated with jizz. It is one of the hottest things I’ve ever seen. That face and that ass, to see it get pounded again and again by three out-of-control Viking degenerates who treat her butthole as if were little more than an oversized piece of lubed-up latex is something special to behold. Then, when four rotting motherfuckers join the party and repeat the aforementioned degradation, my fucking dick was so fucking hard it was hitting me in the chin. Kristi was gorgeous and so brutally defiled I actually felt sorry for her. I still can’t get the visual of Kristi being fucked in the ass by Brian Surewood in a vat of blood out of my mind. Bridgette Kerkove taking that arm up her ass…well…that speaks for itself. And I was privileged to have Mr. Tom Byron himself on second camera, which was truly a great honor for me.
"The thing that nobody understands about this movie is the pure cinematic beauty of it. Everyone thinks it’s going to be something like Rough Sex, and yes, there is some really intense sexual shit in it, but what makes it so different is the fact it is so visually stunning with great acting and an existentialist storyline. It’s kinda’ like Max Hardcore teaming up with Frederick Fellini. In The Days Of Whore is definitely going to change the way pornography is made. And regardless of what anyone says now, when it comes out, they’ll understand that it is a tribute to the industry and not an attack against it. Anyone who doesn’t get it, well…I really don’t give a fuck.
"So many people in porno aspire to greatness by boasting that their flicks are ‘revolutionary’ and ‘cutting edge,’ a marriage between adult and mainstream, but you can’t get that in two or three days. You can only get that if you take your performers to their very limit and get every camera angle, every bit of dialogue, every fucking subtlety and nuance, and make sure your sex is of the hardest and nastiest variety, then take it to an editor who brings the same passion to the project as you. I’ll let the vid speak for itself when it comes out, and what I hope most of all is that I’ve raised the bar of excellence in this business. So many washed up hacks use pornography as a way to stuff blow up their nose, get free pussy, or slimily line their pockets with the hard-earned cash of the porn fan, who no doubt trusts that he will be getting a quality high-end product for his dollar. That, in and of itself, is fucking sick. Extreme is going to maintain the standard of excellence of In The Days of Whore in everything we do. Call it blatant promotion, self-serving PR, I really don’t give a fuck. Let the product speak for itself and let the fans decide. Every other one of you lying, pathetic leeches who simply go through the motions and could care less about what you produce (and you know who you are) can suck my motherfucking balls.
In The Days of Whore will be released by Extreme Associates on October 17, during the height of Extreme’s much-hyped E-Days.
