(LONDON) — Texan model Jerry Hall will strip on stage in front of her children when she makes her debut in the London stage version of “The Graduate” next month, a British newspaper said on Thursday.
Hall has asked James, 14, and Elizabeth, 15, to accompany their father and her ex-husband Mick Jagger and his father Joe to the first night, the Daily Mail reported.
“Not everyone would want their children and ex-father-in-law to see them naked, but she’s an unusual woman,” an insider at the Gielgud Theater told the Mail.
“I think she thinks the children are old enough to decide for themselves, and they want to come.”
But Hall, who is taking over the role of the middle-aged temptress Mrs Robinson from Hollywood star Kathleen Turner, has not invited her younger children — eight-year-old Georgia and two-year-old son Gabriel.
Turner won rave reviews for the part, in which she bared all in a scene at the end of the first act.
Hall, reported to have fought off stiff competition from film stars Sharon Stone and Goldie Hawn to land the part, said of the nude scene: “It is a bit daunting. But it’s just a little strip scene.”
British actress Joan Collins, who shot to fame with scantily clad performances in “The Stud” and “The Bitch” in the 1970s, is reported to have turned down the Mrs Robinson role when Hall finishes her run because she did not want to shed her clothes.
The Sunday Express said the star of the soap opera ”Dynasty” told producers that disrobing on stage was “unseemly.”
