(LONDON) — Texan model Jerry Hall has gone into rehearsals as Mrs. Robinson in “The Graduate” — but she has yet to try out the famous nude scene.
Now ex-husband Mick Jagger is busy looking after the children while she embarks on a long run in the hit play that first won rave reviews for Hollywood star Kathleen Turner.
Hall, 44, takes over from Turner on July 31 as the middle-aged temptress who bares all in a bid to seduce the fresh-faced graduate.
The leggy model, who last appeared on stage back in 1990 to mixed reviews as a nightclub singer in “Bus Stop,” is playing opposite 26-year Josh Cohen as her toyboy.
They have not yet got down to the bare essentials.
“When it feels comfortable for Jerry and Josh, they will go further. But they haven’t done it yet,” producer Sacha Brooks told Monday’s Evening Standard.
It should not be a problem for Hall. She said of her co-star “He’s good… and cute.”
Hall was reported to have fought off stiff competition from Hollywood stars Sharon Stone and Goldie Hawn to land the part.
“I was just determined to get it. I canceled everything — dinners, overseas trips, whatever — got myself an acting coach and thought I am gonna get this job,” she told Monday’s Daily Telegraph.
She said of the nude scene: “It is a bit daunting. But it’s just a little strip scene.”
Hall said that with the help of Jagger, her partner for 22 years before they split in 1999, she had learned all her lines ahead of the first rehearsal — when he sent her a big bunch of flowers.
Hall said Jagger is now totally in charge of the household and had moved into the house next door so he could look after their children.
She was finally driven to leave the Rolling Stones singer after years of his philandering. The catalyst for the split was Brazilian model Luciana Morad’s announcement that she had had Jagger’s child after a passionate love affair.
“I just don’t give a damn any more. Over the past few years, I have been to hell and back and now I just don’t care,” she said.
“Poor Mick. There’s a Dionysian sex god thing goin’ on there. It must be tough. All those girls throwing themselves at him.”
Fiercely proud that they negotiated a civilized parting for the sake of their children, she is still firm about her future and has no plans to take the 56-year-old rocker back: “It’s too late for that. That is never going to happen.”
