WHAT: Under pressure from homosexual activists, Procter and Gamble (P&G) removed its sponsorship of Dr. Laura Schlessinger’s upcoming television program set to debut in September. As a result, Family Research Council’s Senior Director of Cultural Studies Robert Knight and other pro-family leaders will meet with P&G executives to encourage the company to renew its support of Dr. Laura. After the meeting, the pro-family coalition will host a press conference outside P&G headquarters.
WHEN: Monday, June 12 at approximately 2:30pm
WHERE: Procter & Gamble headquarters in Cincinnati
WHO: Robert Knight, Senior Director of Cultural Studies, Family Research Council
"P&G says it is cutting off its ads on Dr. Laura’s upcoming fall TV show and on her radio program because some of her content is ‘controversial.’ But P&G is sponsoring many TV shows that openly promote homosexuality, denigrate religion, and celebrate sexual promiscuity, including Ally McBeal, Friends, That 70s Show and Law and Order," Knight said.
Some major P&G brands, Ivory soap, Jif peanut butter, Folgers coffee, Crest toothpaste, Scope mouthwash, Biz bleach, Tide and Bold detergents, Cascade, Dawn and Joy dishwashing soap, Mr. Clean, Luvs, Pampers, Bounty paper towels and Head & Shoulders shampoo.
