(KEY WEST, FL) — Police arrested six nude men who allegedly jumped on a patrol car and began taking photographs of themselves urinating on the vehicle for a Japanese Web site.
Key West police officer Pablo Rodriguez was on duty at a nearby nightclub when witnesses told him several naked men were yelling, repeatedly jumping on his patrol car while someone snapped photos of the display.
Rodriguez called for assistance and arrested the men, who were charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, records show.
The incident occurred early Saturday across the street from Shorty’s Market in downtown Key West. Store manager Teo Gonzalez said the men were already naked when they approached the police car.
“I called the police and told them, ‘I’m looking right now at six guys completely naked,'” Gonzalez said Wednesday.
The men told police the photos of their stunt were intended for publication on a Japanese Web site, records show. The film was placed into evidence, police spokeswoman Cynthia Edwards said.
Edwards said she did not know the name of the Web site.
Rodriguez estimated his car sustained about $300 worth of damage, mostly dents.
Arrested were Brian Nettles, 32, of Ocean Springs, Miss.; Justin Ahlin, 39, of Boise, Idaho; Hatanaka Keisuke, 22, and Peter Seabridge, 33, both of Tokoname, Japan; Kevin Chancey, 31, of Key West; and Shane Sellers, 25, of Louisiana. Sellers’ hometown was not immediately available.
The men were released Saturday after posting $490 bond each. A court appearance is set for March 23.
