(BOULDER, CO) — New Frontier Media, Inc. (Nasdaq: NOOF – news), a leader in the electronic distribution of adult entertainment, announced that it has signed an agreement with Pacific Bell, a subsidiary of SBC Communications, Inc. (NYSE: SBC – news) and a leading provider of data communications solutions. Under the agreement, Interactive Telecom Network, Inc. (ITN), a subsidiary of New Frontier Media and an emerging Broadband Service Provider (BSP), will utilize Pacific Bell’s high-performance Internet connectivity services to optimize Broadband content distribution to its customers.
“Our relationship with PacBell signals an important milestone in the Broadband Service Provider space — it allows us to deliver broadcast quality IP video and rich media graphics for leading edge Web sites such as TeN.com, The Erotic Network(TM),” stated Dean Church, Vice President of Network Services for ITN. Currently, industry standards for narrow-band Internet video run on average less than five frames per second. New Frontier Media will be able to deliver up to 30 frames per second over the Internet with the additional high-performance bandwidth provided by Pacific Bell. “Broadband is changing the Internet experience and with the penetration of cable and DSL modems into the market, there is sufficient critical mass to rapidly move forward. We’ve been careful to select the best-of-breed backbone providers to create the most effective distribution network for our applications and most importantly, to enhance the online experience for our customers,” added Church.
