(HOUSTON, TX) — Rick’s Cabaret International Inc. (Nasdaq:RICK – news) the Houston-based adult entertainment chain and Internet Content Provider, announced today the launching of www.amateurdan.com. Amateurdan is an all-original-content adult Web site featuring the girls of Rick’s Cabaret.
“This new site is the beginning of Rick’s plans to create unique content sites for the Adult Internet market,” said Eric Langan, CEO and president of the Company, “and we expect, with the recent purchase of the domain www.ricks.com, that we will be able to increase traffic to Rick’s free Web site that promotes our gentlemen’s clubs.”
Mr. Langan continued, “In addition to our initial Web site www.amateurdan.com, we intend, on Nov. 1, 1999, to go live with our widely anticipated DancerDorm Web site which Rick’s featured at the recent IA 2000 Adult Internet Convention in Miami, Florida. This ambitious project has been extremely challenging to develop because of its use of high-quality video streaming technology instead of the industry standard push .jpg technology.”
DancerDorm.com will host 32 cameras that will capture Rick’s dancers in a voyeurist setting as they carry on their daily lives. The Company owns an 8,000 sq. ft. facility which will include several hidden cameras as well as cameras in all living areas. Members will be able to track the dancers through the Dorm by clicking on the mapped out cameras.
Mr. Langan also stated, “Our club operations are also improving as we enter the prime season for the gentlemen’s club industry. In addition, we have engaged new management teams at both of our Houston locations in the past six months. The new San Antonio location is performing above our original expectations and our Minneapolis club is achieving its highest sales revenue since its opening in March of 1998.”
Rick’s Cabaret International Inc. opened it’s first Rick’s Cabaret in Houston in 1983, and went public with its IPO in 1995, making it the world’s first publicly traded topless entertainment business.
