(WINDSOR, VERMONT) — Trying to use a town ordinance to combat nude dancing at a new downtown bar is proving to be a challenge for the Windsor Select Board. The proposed new public decency order bans nudity in any public place serving alcohol.
But board members argued that the ordinance was poorly written, leaving the town open for lawsuits… and was also unlikely to withstand legal challenges.
One board member wryly noted that the law effectively okayed public nudity and sexual intercourse in public, as long as there was NO alcohol present.
Board members finally decided to table the proposed nudity ordinance until it could be reviewed by an attorney.
